We recommend splitting this trip over multiple days but have left you with the flexibility of where to stop, depending on your vehicle set up and overall preparedness. You can take 2 or 12 days to cross - the decision is yours.

This itinerary is an excellent first trip for the caravanning novice. Travel is mainly on sealed highways well-suited to caravan travel. It also makes an ideal section as part of a longer trip or a lap of Australia. The driving directions, accommodation options, and things to see and do listed in this itinerary are all our recommendations based on over 30-years of caravanning experience - but it is ultimately your choice to decide what you do during your travels!

This plan does not specifically cater toward travelling with pets, although our accommodation options do note when accommodation is pet friendly.
